| Rules For Track Procedure |
| 1. Drivers must waer helmets at all times on the racing
surface.
2. Drivers must wear seat belts at all times on the racing surface. 3. Fire-proof suits are recommended for on track activity. 4. Cars are to be driven only by active members who have an current membership application on file. 5. Absolutely o person withouta valid state drivers license or a person under 16 years of age may drive a car at any NEAR, Inc. event. 6. All NEAR, Inc. events are for exibition only. Exibition means a display in which the primary purpose is to show the vehicles and where no race or competition of speed or endurance occurs. (CT. State M.V.D. Regulation sec 16-164a-2, subsection (d)) 7. NEAR, Inc. will permit restored antique cars to participate in on track activities in a reasonable and controlled manner with limited speeds. Ant car driven at excessive speed will be removed at once from the track. Out of control and incompetent driving will not be allowed. The event director shall name a designated winner and alternate for all events. No driver may be the designated winner for more than one event per year. 8. No NEAR, Inc. event shall include a race event of any kind. Any event where the purpose is set forth so that one vehicle shall finish in a better position than at the outset of the event is totally and unequivocally prohibited. At no time shall any type of match race or display of speed take place at any NEAR, Inc. event. 9. Any NEAR, Inc. member, board member or officer who participates in any of the events named in section 8, shall do so at personal risk and does so without the authority or implied consent of the NEAR, Inc. organization. 10. The event director is in control of the meets activities except may not be permitted to supersede any of the rules printed above. |

1. Cars Must Be, Represent or be a Replica of a Race Car that ran from 1979 and before…(NO offset cars) 2. All cars MUST have a Fuel cell. 3. Cars MUST have mufflers. 4. Seat Belts: Must not be over 5 years old, Must be a 5 point harness. 5. Cars must have a 1 gallon catch can. 6. Battery kill switch. 7. NO Anti-freeze/Coolant. 8. Ball joints, kingpins and Tie-rods must be tight. 9. Tires must be in good shape. No dry-rot, cracks or other defects allowed. 10. Two Throttle return springs. At 2 opposing points. 11. Fire extinguisher. 12. A full Interior floor Pan. 13. Brake line mounting. 14. Shocks, Minimum 1 per wheel. 15. Steering: No excessive play. 16. Battery Cover. 17. Rear View Mirror. 18. Safe fuel line mounting. 19. Helmet: Snell SA-95 and newer. (2009 will be Snell sa-2000 and newer) NO “M” series allowed. 20. ALL Drivers MUST have a fire suit, NO HOLES. 21. Gloves are STRONGLY recommended. ( gloves will be a mandatory rule in the year 2008) 22. Special interest Cars may be permitted at events with advance approval from the NEAR board of Directors. NOTE: The event coordinator is in control of all running events. If a driver/owner does not follow the rules or drive in a controlled manner on the track, the event coordinator has the right to place the driver/owner on probation or suspend the driver/owner from future events.
