| Thursday, July 13, 2000 NEAR returned to
Thompson for a night event. with twelve cars and two special interest
vehicles making the 5:00 p.m. sign in. Thompson officials gave us two warm
up practices and a twelve lap main event at 6:00 p.m. The event went
without a hitch with Jim Torok's 04 leading the way and Randy Hall's 36
finishing second.
The seven remaining cars (in no specific order) were: Ken Brown's 85; Pete Newsham's 69; Bob Seymour's cent sign; Ken Pullen's 50; Chris Langer's 0; John Wade's 04 coupe; and Barry Roy's 63. The 49 of Bob Seller experienced transimission problems and the 2X Pinto brought by Doug Farrow had a radiator leak that could not be fixed in time for the 6:00 p.m. feature. Dick Durocher's 999 sedan, Randy Hall's wrecker, and the Hal of Fame trailer were all on display in the Fairway. Randy was extremely pleased with the mid-week event having such a terrific turnout. Everyone had a good time and did their best to put on a good show. It was received very well by Thompson management and the fans. Thanks again..... Randy |
