There was a steady stream of curious race
fans behind the turn 4 grandstands, as NEAR exhibited at the Stafford
Speedway on Friday, May 19th. The #7 of Pete and Judy Burhams and the #3
of Ric Mariscal paced the modified feature. Other cars on display included
the #0 of Chris Langer, the #49 displayed by Rhonda and Gary Blanchette,
the #33 of Dick and Helen Volente, and the #999 with Dick Durocher and Don
Lewis. Other cars included the #69 of Pete Newsham, Doug and Tom Farrow
with the #2x, and the #621 of Pete and Lorraine VonSchiedon.

Dan Gaudianna, Bill Allen, and George Clark
were a few NEAR members seen sharing a story or two with the fans stopping
in to enjoy the antique race cars. Others included Walt Bavier, Roger
Hall, Gus Betencourt, Rod Seller, and Kris Valario. Kim Hart, Dennis
McLaughlin, and Dan Pardi were also spotted checking out the “cars and
stars of yesteryear” display.
