George Barber began building racecars immediately after World War II, scoring his first championship at Stafford Springs, CT in 1953. With drivers Pappy Forsyth and Leland Ingerson, Barber’s cars dominated Northern New
England, specifically Vermont’s Thunder Road in the early 1960s. Coming out of retirement, Barber built Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, VT. At 95, he continues to work restoring Model A Fords.
