This car is owned and driven by Bob
Seller, who started his racing career at the Waterford Speedbowl in
1977. The car was built in 1980 to start the modified racing career
of Chris Young on Long Island. He raced at Islip, Freeport and
Riverhead on Long Island and occasionally at the now closed
Riverside Park Speedway. Chris is still racing at Riverhead and has
at least one win in 2001.
The car is shown and raced as an
example of the "Pinto Revolution" that moved racing away from the
nostalgia of the older coupes and coaches. The car can be seen at
most of the events listed on the NEAR schedule. |
